University Of Worcester Course Eligibility
To study at the University of Worcester, you normally need to be at least 18 years old when you start the course. If on this date you are under 18, but at least 17, you can still study at the University. However, in this case, we will need your parents or guardians to agree to certain additional safeguards, as you are still a legal minor. You must also meet the entry requirements for the course you wish to study. All applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they have the maturity and personal skills necessary to study and live independently in a higher education environment.
General Admission Conditions for UW
There is a wide range of acceptable entry qualifications and the following list is by no means exhaustive. It is designed to provide a sampling of some of the main qualifications that applicants present on entry. Applicants are encouraged to contact the Admissions Office if they have specific questions about qualifications not on this list. Further information can be found on the relevant course pages at www.ucas.com. Each course has specific entry requirements, expressed in terms of the UCAS tariff, although qualifications not currently listed in the tariff will be taken into account. Applicants may offer qualifications in combination to achieve the required total.

Acceptable Qualifications
GCE Advanced Levels and Advanced Supplementary
In general a minimum of two GCE A stage passes.
Advanced Additional Level (AS) achievements may count towards the fee requirement, but candidates will not be disadvantaged if they do not take them.
BTEC qualifications (QCF)
Considered either alone (diploma or extended diploma) or in combination with other qualifications (diploma or subsidiary certificate) to meet tariff requirements.
OCR Nationals
Considered either alone (diploma or extended diploma) or in combination with other qualifications (certificate).
Access to the Higher Education Diploma
Successful completion of a relevant entry qualification recognized by the QAA is acceptable (60 credits including at least 45 at level 3). Some courses may require achievement of certain level 3 merit or distinction credits.
Welsh Baccalaureate
Tariff point requirements can be met through completion of the Welsh Baccalaureate, including Common Core, and will count towards the appropriate tariff.
Scotland
Four level passes above Level C are considered the minimum entry requirement, but all fare qualifications will be considered.
Irish Leaving Certificate
Four to five Superior/Honours passes at grade C are required, as a minimum entry requirement.
NVQ Level 3/Modern Learning
Applicants offering NVQ Level 3 will be considered and may be asked to complete additional work. Similarly, technical certificates for those pursuing advanced modern apprenticeships will be considered on an individual basis, with particular reference to relevance to the intended course.
Advanced GNVQ
Acceptable provided it is passed on a merit level. Some subjects/courses may require an Honors grade and possibly an additional A level.
International Baccalaureate and European Baccalaureate
A minimum score of 24 points is required for the International Baccalaureate and a minimum score of 60% for the European Baccalaureate. Higher entry levels may be set for certain courses.
Professional qualifications
Professional qualifications will be considered on an individual basis.
Core Competencies
Key Competencies at Level 2 are considered an enhancement to a student’s application. But cannot be accepted as meeting subject-specific requirements.
General Studies and Critical Thinking
These qualifications are normally acceptable in part to satisfy entry requirements.
English Baccalaureate
The University of Worcester does not recently aim to use the English Baccalaureate as an entry necessity. Where there are particular subject or grade necessities, these will be obviously stated in the related pamphlet entry and on the University website.
International Qualifications
International students will need to demonstrate proof of studies at a level equivalent to the general entry requirements.
Other qualifications and mature students
