A plastic film or sheet is unwound from the reel and sent along the blister line via a pre-heating station in thermoforming. As the temperature of the pre-heating plates (upper and lower plates) rises, the plastic will soften and become pliable. The heated plastic will then be transported to a forming station, where it will be pressed into a hazardous mould (4 to 8 bar). When the mould is eliminated from the oven, the plastic stiffens and retains its shape. In cold forming, an aluminum-based laminate sheet is forced into a mould with a stamp, and the metal is expanded while preserving its shape.
