Having said that, continue reading this WooCommerce guide to learn how to install a Woo-Commerce theme in WordPress to launch an eCommerce store.

How to install a woo-commerce theme in WordPress

Step 1: Installing and Configuring WooCommerce

As a free WordPress plugin, WooCommerce is available in the official WordPress plugins directory. First, log into your WordPress administration panel.

WooCommerce may now be installed by following these instructions:

When you log into your WordPress dashboard, choose Plugins from the menu on the left.

Search for WooCommerce in the Add New field.

From the search results, select WooCommerce and click the Install Now button.

Activate the app when the installation is complete.

Step 2. Configuring WooCommerce

As soon as you activate it, WooCommerce will open the WooCommerce installation wizard.

Add Business Details:

In order to begin, you’ll first be required to fill out the details of your business.

Make sure you choose the correct option under “I plan to sell both physical and digital products”.

In general, digital items are anything that can be downloaded as a file and used on a computer or other electronic device. An electronic device like a digital camera, on the other hand, would be a physical item.

Step 3. Choose your payment method

Next, you’ll need to decide which payment methods you’ll accept.

Payments for WooCommerce

Stripe and PayPal are two of the most common payment methods. Thus we recommend that you activate both. If you haven’t set up your accounts yet, you can do so at a later time.

Step 4. Verify the shipping options available to you

Next, you’ll be prompted to select your shipping prices. WooCommerce will automatically set your “primary shipping zone” to the location where you are presently located, with the other choice being ‘the rest’:

WooCommerce shipping options may very well be configured. Set preset pricing for each zone, or make shipping completely free, or interface with specific carriers (like UPS) to receive real-time shipping costs for each zone, depending on your needs.

Step 5. Complementary plugins/theme selection

Next, you’ll need to choose which recommended plugins to use on your website and whether or not you want to use WooCommerce’s built-in theme.

Don’t worry about making a long-term commitment just now; it’s simple to add these later. If you’re not sure if you need these, you may uncheck them from the drop-down menu.

Step 6. Enable Jetpack

Following that, you’ll be prompted to activate the JetPack plugin. This will make it easier for you to set up payments and automate taxes in the future. Continue with Jetpack by pressing the “Continue with Jetpack” button.  You may skip this step by going to the bottom of the page and selecting Skip this step.

Pick a good theme

This will serve as the foundation for all of your website’s design. WordPress is a great platform since it allows you to completely change the appearance and feel of your website by modifying or adding to the HTML code.

That being said, it makes sense to go with something that appears as near to your end product as feasible unless you’re a programming expert who enjoys the freedom of total customization.

So, choose a woo-commerce theme you enjoy and that works well for your e-commerce site, even if it means spending money on a third-party design. It’ll save you time and frustration in the long run, so do it!

Step 7. Add new goods

You’ll be prompted to add your first product as soon as you finish installing Jetpack.  This is the final step in setting up your WooCommerce store.

It’s alright if you haven’t started uploading yet. After returning to your dashboard, go to ‘Products’ on the left, then ‘Add New’ to create new products.

Adding a new product to WooCommerce goes like this…

You’ll need the following information for each product you upload:

Product name – e.g. Trousers

Price – e.g. $25

Main product image – this should be a picture of the whole product from the front.

Additional product images (optional but recommended) – include pictures from as many angles as possible and add closeups of more precise details.

Product description (long) – This should include a long description of the product like the fabric used, the size, color, and pattern.

Short product description – e.g. ‘Beautiful Trousers for daily wear.”

Product category – e.g. Apparel

Step 8: Add Extra Plugins and Extensions

Now that your WooCommerce-powered eCommerce website is up and running, you’re ready to start selling your items. There are still a few plugins and extensions you may need to enhance the functionality of your online store.  Your eCommerce website might benefit from a variety of plugins and extensions.

If you’re thinking of making use of WordPress to build an online business, you’ll definitely need to think about how to install a Woo-Commerce theme. It’s now the most popular eCommerce option for WordPress websites, due to its versatility and numerous options for customization. But, with its abundance of features, it could be difficult to begin.

WooCommerce is an excellent choice for WordPress users interested in establishing an online store. If you’ve ever wanted to start an e-commerce business from your WordPress website, this WooCommerce plugin is the solution.
