MBA Course at IGNOU – Placements, Fees and Eligibility

MBA is a two-year PG level program that comes with various specializations like Human Resource, Aviation Management, Banking, and Finance Management, Accounts Management, etc. The course is offered by Indira Gandhi National Open University or popularly known as IGNOU.

About MBA Program 

MBA is the acronym for Master of Business Administration. It’s a two-year master’s degree program having a minimum duration of two years with the flexibility of three additional years. It means a student can easily complete the course in five years. MBA comes in many specializations and every specialization provides a particular skill and knowledge related to the particular field. The course is completely approved by the University Grants Commission. IGNOU is one of the premier institutions that offer this course under distance mode. Recently an online MBA has also been introduced by the university. The course fees are very low as compared to other universities. The fee for an MBA in IGNOU is about 38000 for a full course. The fee submission can be made online using the portal ignou.ac.in. it can be submitted in two different instalments. 

Eligibility Criteria 

For taking admission to an MBA program, a student needs to follow the guidelines mentioned in the official prospectus. Check these eligibility criteria before taking admission to the program:

A candidate must have passed the bachelor’s degree examination with at least 50% marks in aggregate including cost accountancy, Company Secretaryship, Chartered Accountancy etc. 

Reserved category students like SC and ST need to submit their proof of relaxation and they need to pass the bachelor’s degree with 45%. 

The OPENMAT entrance test is required for taking admission to the programme. 

Age Bar

There is no age bar for taking admission to any specializations provided by the university. 

Course Fee

Students are required to pay the fee of 37800 INR in two different instalments which will be very easy for the students to pay. They can pay their respective fee using the online mode of fee payment. However, it may also be paid offline by visiting the respective regional centre of the main campus of the varsity. 

Candidates need to pay the fee as per the specialisations and subjects. On average, there are 21 subjects to be studied and the per course fee is about 1800 which constitutes 37800 INR.

Placements

Indira Gandhi National Open University has a dedicated placement cell that is known as CPC or Campus Placement Cell. It was established in 2005 with the primary objective to provide the best ever opportunities to the students related to their respective specialisations and course of study. First of all, candidates need to register themselves with the Central Placement Cell of the University. 

Training begins for IGNOU candidates. Pre-interview sessions are also organised by IGNOU in order to prepare students for further rounds of interviews. 

The recruitment process begins with various companies coming to hire students. 

As per the laws of a particular company, students need to undergo various processes like a verbal interview, written test, GD and more.
