In addition the announcement of the OTT player has also announced the launch of three originals, Adithi, The Farm and My Marappu and remake of the most popular Hindu originals like Pitchers, Tripling and Permanent Roommates in Tamil.
“We are in conversation with some of the big names in Tamil entertainment space and we are planning to bring in 10-15 original series by March 2020,” Sodhi told the media.
The company has formed a partnership with directors of film Gautham Vasudev Menon Balaji Mohan, and Singeetam Srinivasa Rao besides partnering with a variety of production companies like AVM Productions as well as Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI). The company is also working with stand-up comedy performers like Evam as well as Put Chutney.
Sodhi explained that, in addition to investing in original content, the company also invests in acquiring film rights to broadcast on their digital platforms, and dubbing the most popular Sony TV shows into Tamil as well as buying rights to sports and investing in commentary Tamil.
